Shadow Panther's Past Updates

Google Nonplussed

2/2/12

A friend notified me yesterday that my Google+ account is apparently active now. This came as a surprise to me, since I never received an e-mail notification from Google letting me know that my 2nd appeal had been successful. Well, after logging back in, the "Account Suspended" message is gone, so I guess the account is truly approved.

I had previously read reports of another person in a similar situation getting their account suspended, then approved, then suspended again and finally approved, so I waited another day just to make sure everything had settled down. For all I know, my account may have been active for several days and I just never realized it.

I had planned to log into Google+ from my phone a few days ago to check on the status of my appeal, but gave up after discovering that you are forced to agree that Google+ will use your location when accessing it through a mobile device. Apparently, you can bypass this "feature" by disabling location services, but then you cripple the other capabilities of your phone. The whole situation has left me with a bad taste in my mouth, so I'm not really sure what to think at this point...

Google-

1/29/12

I've been Shadow Panther longer than Google's been Google.

Let that sink in for a second...I didn't realize it myself until just this week.

So, what's the significance, you might ask? Well, a few days ago, Google+ announced that they were going to "broaden support for established pseudonyms, from +trench coat to +Madonna." But there's a catch - you need to provide "proof of an established identity online with a meaningful following". It's still not clear exactly what qualifies as a "meaningful following", but apparently "gamer handles" don't make the cut.

I tested this out myself by trying to sign up as Shadow Panther, but it was immediately flagged as a name that would require further justification. So I submitted a list of links to Google+ providing proof of my established online identity including links to my site, my Twitter page, etc. Despite all that, I received a notice several days later that my request had been rejected because "the name provided violates the Google+ Names Policy".

I have used the name Shadow Panther, in various forms, since before 1996 when Google was first formed. I'm known as Shadow__Panther on Twitter, Shadow Panther on AOL/AIM, Shadow Panther on Xbox Live, and many more sites and services across the web. Thousands of gamers around the world know me as Shadow Panther and have benefited directly from the resources found on my personal site.

Before World of Warcraft, I had a significant following on Xbox Live (beginning with the original Xbox back in 2003) when I made charts for MechAssault, Halo 2 and other games. In those early days, I also managed the Co-op Games List as well as the massive Xbox Clan Registry, which helped numerous players find and contact Xbox clans.

I like to think that I've established a very "meaningful following" over the past decade consisting of thousands of fellow gamers who have supported me and my various efforts. Google+ may classify Shadow Panther as merely being a "gamer handle", but for me it has been my primary online presence for over 15 years.

If you doubt me, go to Google and type in "Shadowp"...because that's as far as you'll need to get before my site (and hundreds of sites mentioning me and my work) appears. If that's not "proof of an established identity online with a meaningful following", then I don't know what is.

UPDATE: (2/2/12) It appears that my Google+ account has now been approved.

Updates to some Patch 4.3 items on my charts

12/29/11

I've updated my Rogue Weapons and Armor charts to correct a few changes made to items between the PTR and Live versions. In particular, many of the trinket proc effects were revised before going live, so I've updated my charts to reflect those changes.

11/27/11

I've added all three stages of the upcoming Legendary Daggers to my Rogue Weapons charts. I've also updated my Gems charts with epic gems from Patch 4.3.

10/4/11

People occasionally ask how they can support my site. There are now three easy ways you can help support ShadowPanther.net:

  • My Powerleveling Guide for Rogues.

UPDATE: (7/3/12) Amazon has separate affiliate programs for each country in which it operates, however my link will only work for U.S. customers.

More updates to my Twink charts

8/8/11

I've updated my Rogue Twink Armor Chart and Rogue Twink Weapons Chart with new sections for level 10 and level 20-24 gear. Players with Level 10 twinks enjoy beating up on level 14 players due to stat scaling benefits while level 24 twinks are becoming more common for players looking to get an advantage over the influx of level 20 Starter Editon Free to Play (F2P) opponents.

UPDATE: (8/10/11) Due to the addition of these new sections in my lowest level twink charts, those charts have now become quite large. To help alleviate some of this problem, I've moved over the 50-59 section of both charts into my 51-60 Twink charts.

Updated Trinkets

8/5/11

I've updated my Rogue Armor Charts with the recently buffed Darkmoon Card: Hurricane and the nerfed Unheeded Warning.

Numerous updates to my site and charts

7/28/11

Over the past few weeks, I've been making several changes to my site and charts to improve the user experience throughout.

Site updates include:

  • Removed unnecessary scripts from most of my non-chart pages to speed up page load times.
  • Removed outdated Internet Explorer 6 HTML workarounds in those same non-chart pages.
  • Added a Brazilian Portuguese translation icon to the list of foreign translations for each localization of the game.

Chart updates include:

  • Tweaked the format of my charts so that they wouldn't be so wide.
  • Removed suboptimal gear from many of my high level charts to reduce the size of those charts.
  • Removed the TCrit and TAP columns from my high level charts to further reduce chart sizes.
  • Updated the stats and Loc/Info/Source for all currently listed gear.
  • Updated Valor/Justice/Conquest/Honor point prices for all gear affected in patch 4.2
  • Added various items to my low level twink charts to help players in the 10-20 level ranges.

A lot of those technical modifications should enable my site to be more user-friendly for people visting on mobile devices with smaller screens and slower download speeds.

Powerleveling Guide for Rogues updated for Patch 4.2

Twink Charts updated for Cataclysm and Starter Edition

6/30/11

Over the past month, I have been painstakingly updating thousands of items contained in my Rogue Twink Armor and Weapons Charts so that those charts would be current with all Cataclysm changes. I'm still working on adding some items to those charts that had been overlooked, but all items currently listed on those charts should now have the correct stats.

In addition to those updates, I have added a new Level 20 Starter Edition bracket to my Level 14-59 Twink Charts for those players interested in trying out the new World of Warcraft Starter Edition trial accounts. Those Free to Play "F2P" trial accounts are limited to level 20 characters with other significant restrictions including max 10 gold, max 100 trade skills, and no access to AH, mail or trades.

I've updated my Rogue Armor and Weapons charts with Heroic Firelands gear from the PTR Build 14179 update.

More Patch 4.2 items and World Event loot added to my charts

If your Download Link has already expired, you can use that link to request an additional download. If you've lost or deleted your "Order Info" email, contact me and I'll send you a copy for your records.

Zul'Gurub/Zul'Aman items updated in my Armor and Weapons charts

4/28/11

I've updated the Location and Source information for all Zul'Gurub/Zul'Aman items on my Rogue Armor and Weapons charts.

Patch 4.1 Zul'Gurub/Zul'Aman items added to my Armor and Weapons charts

4/6/11

I've updated my Rogue Armor and Weapons charts with items from the upcoming Patch 4.1 and Zul'Gurub/Zul'Aman 5-man instances.

Powerleveling Chart and Links Page updated for Cataclysm

3/6/11

I've updated my Rogue Powerleveling Chart and Rogue Links to be current for Cataclysm. The Powerleveling Chart is a nice resource to use along with my Powerleveling Guide for Rogues. The Links page is a compilation of every Rogue-related website, guide and resource I've been able to find. In addition to that, there's also a comprehensive list of useful sites for other classes at the bottom of that Links page. I have removed all of the old, outdated and broken links on that page, so the majority of sites listed there should be current and relevant for Cataclysm.

More charts updated for Cataclysm

3/5/11

I've updated my Rogue Armor Sets and Rogue Armor Locations charts for Cataclysm.

Powerleveling Spreadsheet for Engineering updated for Cataclysm

3/4/11

I've updated my Powerleveling Spreadsheet for Engineering (.XLS version) with Cataclysm recipes up through level 525. I've also removed all of the ammunition schematics and updated raw material prices based on current average market values. According to my revised calculations, it takes approximately 8,000 gold to powerlevel Engineering from 1-525. More than 2/3 of that is just from 426-525. And that doesn't even include the 2,000 or so gold that you'll need to make your helm, tinkers and cogwheels.

So what makes this spreadsheet better than your average powerleveling guide? Most guides don't really address the issue of using alternate schematics nor do they provide you with any kind of estimate as to how much this effort is going to cost you. I've designed this spreadsheet to give you the ability to select alternate schematics, calculate material costs and customize your own personal powerleveling plan based on resource availabilities and AH price fluctuations. Not only that, but I've also included tables at the bottom of the spreadsheet that you can use to calculate the approximate number of attempts needed to skill up each point in the Yellow -> Green -> Gray ranges, which can be useful for pretty much any profession.

Rogue Leveling Tips and Twink Specs updated for Cataclysm

2/19/11

I've finally gotten around to updating my Rogue Leveling Tips and Rogue Twink Specs for Cataclysm.

Rogue Talent Calculator, Talent Specs and other resources updated for Cataclysm

2/13/11

Lots of players have recently been contacting me asking when I would be updating my Rogue Talent Specs, but I knew that wasn't going to be a simple task. Updating my Excel-based Talent Calculator and Talent Spec pages required a lot of effort because I had to completely rebuild those charts to account for all of the changes to the Talent Tree system. I'm pretty satisfied with the current results, which includes easily viewable Wowhead Tooltips for each rank of those talents.

The following charts and pages on my site have now been updated for Cataclysm:

Charts updated with Patch 4.0.6 and AEP/MAEP changes

2/10/11

I have updated many of the charts on my site with Patch 4.0.6 changes. I've also updated my AEP/MAEP formulas for those charts, the details of which can be found in my Formulas, AEP/MAEP and Pawn pages.

Powerleveling Guide fully updated for levels 80-85 and Patch 4.0.6

2/6/11

I have finished updating my Powerleveling Guide for Rogues all the way up to level 85 as well as incorporating changes from the upcoming patch 4.0.6. If you previously purchased the guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in your "Order Info" e-mail to download the updated guide. If your Download Link has already expired, you can use that link to request an additional download. If you've lost or deleted your "Order Info" email, contact me and I'll send you a copy for your records.

Several charts updated for Level 85

1/21/11

I have updated my Rogue Consumables, Races and Professions charts for Cataclysm and Level 85. I added a "Lvl" column to the Consumables chart to help players figure out which items were applicable to their Rogue. I also updated the components needed to make many of those consumables. The Races chart has been updated with the new Worgen and Goblin races, both of which scored highly for PVP and PVE. Finally, I have incorporated a few upcoming patch 4.0.6 changes into those charts.

Enchantments charts updated for Level 85

1/18/11

I have updated my Rogue PVP Enchantments and Rogue PVE Enchantments charts for Cataclysm and Level 85. I've added "Lvl" and "iLvl" columns to those charts to make it easier to figure out which enchantments can be used on your Rogue's gear.

New and Updated Rogue Starter and Twink Weapons charts

1/16/11

I have updated my Rogue Starter Weapons chart for Cataclysm and Level 85. This time, I've decided to split it into two separate charts; one for PVP and one for PVE. I've also created two new Rogue Twink weapons charts to assist players in twinking/leveling in the sub-85 level brackets. Listed below are the descriptions for all of those charts:

71-80 Rogue Twink Weapons Chart (New) - For those players who don't have Cataclysm yet or want to raid/PVP at 80.

80-84 Rogue Twink Weapons Chart (New) - For those players who are twinking/leveling in the 80-84 level range.

Level 85 PVP Rogue Starter Weapons Chart - The best pre-Raid/pre-Arena weapons to get geared up for PVP at 85.

Level 85 PVE Rogue Starter Weapons Chart - The best pre-Raid/pre-Arena weapons to get geared up for raiding at 85.

High Level Rogue PVP Weapons Chart - Endgame PVP weapons for competitive Arena/Rated Battlegrounds at 85.

High Level Rogue PVE Weapons Chart - Endgame PVE weapons for high level raiding at 85.

Updated Weapons charts and Weapon MAEP values for Level 85

1/14/11

I have updated my Rogue PVP Weapons and Rogue PVE Weapons charts for Cataclysm and Level 85. I've also made some adjustments to the MAEP values for Weapon Speed and DPS in those charts, which has been carried over to my updated AEP/MAEP formulas and Pawn scales. At this time, I don't plan on updating the charts for each individual weapon type (swords, maces, etc.) since the removal of weapon specializations has made the differentiation between non-dagger weapon types mostly cosmetic.

Updated Rogue Starter Gear charts and New Twink/Leveling Armor charts

1/12/11

I have updated my Rogue Starter Gear charts for Cataclysm and Level 85. Those armor charts list the best pre-Raid, pre-Arena items that can be crafted, purchased, acquired from quests or obtained in 5-man Regular/Heroic dungeons. I've also created two new Rogue Twink Armor charts to assist players in twinking/leveling in the sub-85 level brackets. Adding and updating those charts has allowed me to reduce the size of my High Level Rogue Armor charts to a more manageable level.

With so many armor charts, it can be confusing to figure out which one(s) to use, so I've included descriptions below.

71-80 Rogue Twink Armor Chart (New) - For those players who don't have Cataclysm yet or want to raid/PVP at 80.

80-84 Rogue Twink Armor Chart (New) - For those players who are twinking/leveling in the 80-84 level range.

Level 85 PVP Rogue Starter Gear - The best pre-Raid/pre-Arena gear to get geared up for PVP at 85.

Level 85 PVE Rogue Starter Gear - The best pre-Raid/pre-Arena gear to get geared up for raiding at 85.

High Level Rogue PVP Armor Chart - Endgame PVP gear for competitive Arena/Rated Battlegrounds at 85.

High Level Rogue PVE Armor Chart - Endgame PVE gear for high level raiding at 85.

Finished updating my PVP and PVE Rogue Armor charts for Level 85

1/11/11

I have finished updating my Rogue PVP Armor Chart and Rogue PVE Armor Chart for Cataclysm and Level 85. I have added over 400 new items and updated the stats, prices and other info for every item on those charts. Soon I'll work on updating my weapons charts and starter gear charts to be current for level 85.

Currently updating my Rogue Armor charts for Level 85

1/9/11

I'm currently working on updating my high level Rogue Armor charts for Level 85. Listed below are the various changes and improvements I'm making to those charts:

  • Change the ArP column to Mastery.
  • Update all previous ArP gear with their new stats.
  • Move Mastery values for currently listed gear from the Special columns into the Mastery column.
  • Incorporate my updated AEP/MAEP values into the charts, including rare gems values from my Gems charts.
  • Modify the AEP/MAEP calculations in my charts to award reduced socket values for socketed gear below Ilvl 285.
  • Remove ranged weapon bonuses and add static "Thrown Weapon bonuses" for all thrown weapons.
  • Update the TCrit and TAP calculations with Level 85 formulas.
  • Remove italic socket bonuses from stats and break those values out into the Special columns.
  • Update the stats and Loc/Info/Source for all currently listed gear.
  • Add all new and missing Cataclysm Rogue gear. (In progress)

Level 85 Rogue Stat formulas, AEP/MAEP formulas, Pawn scales and Gem charts

1/5/11

In preparation for upcoming changes to my various charts, I've updated my Rogue Stat formulas, AEP/MAEP formulas, Pawn scales and Gem charts (PVP/PVE) for level 85 and patch 4.0.3a. Soon I will incorporate many of these changes into the rest of my charts.

Powerleveling Guide fully updated for levels 1-80

1/2/11

I have updated all level 1-80 information in my Powerleveling Guide for Rogues to be current with patch 4.0.3a. I will be adding level 81-85 information to the guide soon.

More Updates to my Powerleveling Guide and Site Updates Coming Soon...

12/29/10

I have updated pages 21-26 of my Powerleveling Guide for Rogues to be current with patch 4.0.3a. Updated portions in those revised pages include level-by-level recommendations up to level 40.

Numerous players have contacted me asking when I plan on updating the rest of my site to be current with Cataclysm. I would have liked to have had it ready by now, but I've been really busy the past few months working on several other projects. I hope to have the rest of my site updated soon, but it's going to take some time.

More Updates to my Powerleveling Guide for Rogues

12/14/10

I have updated pages 14-20 of my Powerleveling Guide for Rogues to be current with patch 4.0.3a. Updated portions in those revised pages include Worgen leveling tips and level-by-level recommendations up to level 22.

Beginning Updates to my Powerleveling Guide for Rogues

12/9/10

I have updated the first 13 pages of my Powerleveling Guide for Rogues to be current with patch 4.0.3a. If you've already purchased the guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in your "Order Info" e-mail to download the updated version of the guide. Over the next few weeks, I'll be working on getting the rest of the guide current for Cataclysm, posting updated versions of the guide as it's revised.

Twink DPS Tests Updated for 4.0.3a

12/7/10

I have updated my Rogue Twink Project chart with DPS tests for all level ranges up through level 59. The results are pretty interesting, as you can see just how much of an impact the 4.0.3a changes have made to low level Rogue damage output compared to the insane levels in the 4.0.1 patch. Assassination and Subtlety specs took a much bigger hit than Combat, with DPS reductions ranging from around 15% to as much as 40%, affecting burst damage the most. Combat DPS only appears to have been reduced by about 10-20% in most level ranges. This information should be useful to players leveling up new Rogues in Cataclysm.

Massive Updates to my Rogue Twink Armor chart

12/4/10

I have updated my Rogue Twink Armor chart with all known item changes as well as new items introduced in the recent 4.x patches. I think I may have severely underestimated just how much time and effort it's going to take for me to update all of my charts and resources, as hundreds of items have been altered in various ways due to Cataclysm changes. I knew there would be a lot of work to do, but I never imagined it would take so long. Roughly half of the 1,200+ items on that chart have changed in one way or another.

Some dungeon drops have completely moved from one level bracket to another. Other quest reward items are no longer available because their quests have been changed or removed completely. Items purchased with badges and honor points have all had their prices changed. Even items "of the Bandit" have had their stats altered. I'm doing my best to capture of all of this information so that my charts are as accurate as can be, but it's very time consuming.

To complicate matters, Blizzard has recently doubled the number of PVP level brackets by splitting each bracket in half (ie. 10-19 is now 10-14 and 15-19). To account for this new development, I've added a 10-14 bracket to that chart. For the time being, I'm going to stick with the standard 10 level breakdowns for the other brackets within that chart, so just refer to the level numbers listed in the "Lv" column to find items that qualify for any particular x0-x4 "half-bracket".

Final Update to my Northrend Guide for Rogues, Now 50% Off

11/26/10

I've finally gotten around to making the last few updates to my Northrend Guide for Rogues. I've also reduced the price for this guide by 50%.

Shadow Panther's Powerleveling Guide for Rogues

11/23/10

Over the past few months, I've been working very hard on two related projects. One was my Rogue Twink Project. The other one is a Powerleveling Guide for Rogues. I had hoped to release this guide weeks ago, but it wasn't ready yet, and I didn't want to rush it out.

The good news is that I finally completed the guide early this morning, and it's my largest, most detailed guide ever, filled with over 30 pages of useful information current through patch 4.0.1. The bad news is that a lot of the work I put into the guide is based on my experiences powerleveling half a dozen Rogues in many zones that will be radically changed with the 4.0.3a patch being released today. Also, the guide only goes up to Level 80. However, as soon as I get the chance to level up my Rogues in Cataclysm, I will add Cataclysm information to this guide to assist players in powerleveling their own Rogues all the way to Level 85.

To make up for the lack of Cataclysm/Patch 4.0.3 content in this new guide, I will be offering it at 50% of the standard price through the end of 2010. Anyone who purchases the guide, whether at the standard or discounted price, will receive each update to the guide as it is released, at no additional cost. If you're looking for a great gift to give that new Rogue in your life, then look no further.

Shadow Panther's Powerleveling Guide for Rogues

Thank you all for your continued support!

More updates to my Rogue Twink Project

11/14/10

I've decided to powerlevel two more Rogues, one to level 59 and another well on his way to 69, in order to provide more upper level data for my Rogue Twink Project. I've also added calculations to each section which show the percentage DPS increase between a twinked Rogue and a non-twinked Rogue in each of those level ranges. It's interesting to see just how much of a damage increase you can expect to see in fully twinked gear as opposed to basic "Monkey" leveling gear, which has a noticeable effect on your leveling speed. After leveling so many Rogues over the past few months, I can really tell the difference.

Updated Rogue Stat formulas, AEP/MAEP formulas and Pawn scales

10/26/10

Numerous players have contacted me asking when I plan on updating my charts and other resources for the 4.0.1 patch. I'm working on that, but it's going to take some time. To get things started, I've updated my Rogue Stat formulas, AEP/MAEP formulas and Pawn scales to reflect changes in the Combat Rating system, the removal of Armor Penetration and the addition of Mastery. I have also added PVE Subtlety MAEP formulas into the mix. These new formulas and scales are still a work in progress, so expect some tweaking as I incorporate these updated stat values into all of my charts.

Final updates to my Rogue Twink Project, for now...

10/24/10

I have completed updating my Rogue Twink Project for the time being, after having added Sustained DPS results for all brackets up to 49 as well as Heirloom enchant test results. There are still some gaps in the Sustained DPS sections, but I'm pretty satisfied with the results I've been able to achieve at this point. This chart is unlike any other chart I've ever created, requiring hours and hours of meticulous testing of weapons, enchants and specs. So what does it all mean?

This chart helps players interested in twinking/leveling their Rogue to determine the following:

  1. How much potential DPS can Rogues put out with fully twinked heirloom gear vs. standard "Monkey" leveling gear, at various level ranges?
  2. Which heirloom weapon combinations are most effective for Rogue twinking/leveling?
  3. Which enchants are best for Rogue heirloom leveling weapons and how do they compare to Mongoose-enchanted weapons in the 39/49 brackets?
  4. Which DPS-oriented leveling specs work best for burst vs. sustained damage, and what glyphs and poisons are used with those specs?
  5. What are some basic attack rotations optimized for burst DPS and how long do each of those single rotations take?
  6. How much has low-to-mid level Rogue DPS changed since the previous patch?

If you're considering twinking and/or leveling a Rogue, this information could be very useful to you.

Single Rotation Twink DPS tests completed

10/19/10

I've completed all of the single rotation DPS tests on my Rogue Twink Project chart through level 49. Overall, the results were pretty amazing. According to the results of my tests, Rogue burst damage appears to have more than doubled in most of the lower PVP brackets. The most striking differences can be seen in the level 39 & 49 Subtlety results, mainly due to the ability to pull off 2-second Premeditation-> Shadowstep->Ambush->Eviscerate combinations for 4,000 - 6,000 damage against the Level 1 Theramore Combat Dummy, and that's using either daggers or non-daggers. Even Mutilate made a strong showing, with similar damage potential in the level 49 bracket. I can only imagine that this kind of burst damage is probably wreaking havoc in the lower level PVP brackets...

I feel like I'm having to learn the class all over again, along with the rest of the Rogue community. During the course of performing these tests on each of my six twink Rogues, I kept finding changes that really impact the early Rogue experience. Listed below are a few observations I jotted down, some of which may not necessarily be new to people, but others players may find enlightening.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Strength still gives 1 AP to Rogues, so Crusader is still useful for Heirloom weapons.
  • Rogues no longer get Eviscerate, or combo points for that matter, at level 1. They have to wait until level 3 for those.
  • With all Rogue weapon skills now being known from the start, that means no more leveling weapon skills. Nice.
  • Access to Instant Poison at level 10 is also nice.
  • Lifeblood gives Haste Rating now, which makes Herbalism much more attractive than Mining for leveling purposes.
  • Ambush is learned a lot earlier now (level 8 vs. 18) and can be used with any Rogue weapon.
  • Slice and Dice is delayed until level 22 now, previously available at level 10. Not a big deal, but may take some adjusting.
  • Backstab, previously available at level 4, cannot be learned until level 18 now.
  • Not having access to Sprint until level 16 is a tad disappointing. Sprint at lower levels almost made up for not having a mount.
  • Poisons no longer have multiple ranks, but you can still buy poisons from Jeeves that can't be used by lower level Rogues.
  • Wintergrasp Commendations were nerfed hard. They only give 50 Honor now, while the items they're used to purchase cost 40-200 honor each. Before, you could outfit your Rogue with a full set of PVP Necklace/Ring/Boots/Belt using a single token.
  • Pick Lock no longer requires skilling up (yay!) but isn't available until level 20 now (boo!)
  • Delaying glyphs until level 25 is mildly annoying. Glyph of Blurred Speed was always a nice perk during those earlier levels.
  • The in-game Mutilate tooltip doesn't mention anything about getting added damage from poisoned targets, but you do in fact get a 20% bonus to Mutilate damage against poisoned targets. That's an important distinction for leveling Rogues, because you'll have to choose between +20% Mutilate damage (using Wound Poison) or the +50% frequency of Instant Poison...or use one of each...or put points into the PVP-oriented Deadly Brew to get the best of both worlds, as pointed out by Sharqy.

My Rogue Twink Project

10/5/10

I have been working on an ambitious project over the past few weeks. When browsing the Rogue forums, I would frequently see players asking which BoA Heirloom weapons were the best for leveling purposes. Players would respond with numerous weapon configurations, but nobody could ever seem to agree on the best overall weapons. So, I set out to try and determine the answer for myself.

In order to perform this experiment, I decided to level up several Rogues and spend thousands of gold to fully twink out their gear for each of the PVP twink brackets up to level 49, as well as twinked level 1 and 10 Rogues. That way, I could test out various gear setups (both Monkey and Twink), talent specs and attack rotations in each level range to help determine the best overall configuration. I performed both "burst" (single rotation) and 1 minute DPS tests with each combination to see which would generate the most DPS. I even tested how daggers performed as Sinister Strike weapons, to illustrate why that isn't such a great idea.

The final results were mixed, with no clear favorite weapon combination standing out. Still, it was interesting to see how certain specs and configurations performed better than others in specific level ranges. More importantly, I now have a good baseline to work with as we head into Cataclysm. I will be able to easily see just how much Rogue Base DPS is affected across multiple level ranges with the changes coming in the next patch.

I've added nearly 20 more Cataclysm items to my Rogue Twink Armor chart.

Cataclysm gear added to my Rogue Twink charts

7/21/10

I've updated my Rogue Twink Armor and Rogue Twink Weapons charts with new gear from Cataclysm.

Cataclysm Rogue Armor added to my charts

7/20/10

I've updated my high level Rogue Armor Charts with new Cataclysm gear (highlighted in gray). For the time being, any items with Mastery Rating will have that stat listed in the "Special" columns of my charts, tentatively valued at 1 AEP/MAEP per point. Eventually, once all of the Cataclysm Beta stat changes are finalized, and things settle down, I'll make a separate column for Mastery Rating.

More Cataclysm Rogue Weapons added to my charts

7/15/10

I've added every currently known Cataclysm Rogue Weapon to my weapons charts and updated the few weapons I'd previously added several weeks ago. If you're wondering why the price of Battered Hilt has recently started to drop on the AH, then you can see why by checking out my weapons charts. Quel'Delar, Cunning of the Shadows looks rather ordinary compared to early Cataclysm weapons. This trend should begin to manifest itself in less demand and lower prices for other BoE epics as well, as players quickly realize how easily replaceable many of those expensive epics will become.

I'll begin adding Cataclysm Rogue Armor to my charts over the next few days. And eventually some real Rogue Talent charts too, now that the Real ID crisis has been averted.

Exclusive! Cataclysm Beta Rogue Talents Preview

7/8/10

Two days ago, Blizzard announced their plans to force Real ID on their official forums. A day later, in an obvious attempt to deflect the numerous heated discussions over this controversial decision, they announced a major overhaul of their talent tree system. Aside from the curious timing, I wondered if there was a deeper reason for this coincidence. Well, I think I've found the answer, in the form of updated Beta Rogue talents. Many Bothans died to bring me this information...

Cataclysm Beta Rogue Talents Preview

Cataclysm gear being added to my charts

7/1/10

The Cataclysm Beta is live now, so I've begun the laborious process of adding Cataclysm Rogue gear to my charts, starting with my weapons charts. Adding new gear during the beta of a new expansion is always a hassle as item names and stats often change from one beta build to another. Also, with the upcoming changes to various stats, I'll have to redesign most of my charts and modify old gear to reflect those stat changes. It's going to require a lot of effort, but after working through the previous expansions, I've pretty much gotten used to the drill by now.

Heroic Ruby Sanctum gear from Patch 3.3.5 added to my armor charts

6/23/10

Thanks to the excellent work over at MMO-Champion, I've added the Heroic 10-man and 25-man loot from Halion to my armor charts.

Lord Ahune's Cloak added to my armor charts

6/21/10

I've added The Frost Lord's War Cloak from Lord Ahune to my armor charts. This is a nice pre-raiding cloak for Rogues, as can be seen in the Cloaks section of my PVE Starter Gear chart. The Lord Ahune boss battle can be completed in about 5 minutes and you can run it over and over again until you win the cloak, so there's really no reason not to farm for it. In addition to that, you can earn two Emblems of Frost each day from this encounter. Just click on the Dungeon Finder button and select "The Frost Lord Ahune" from the drop down menu. This boss battle, which is part of the Midsummer Fire Festival, will only be available today through July 4th.

Ruby Sanctum gear from Patch 3.3.5 added to my armor charts

5/21/10

I've added three new items from the upcoming Patch 3.3.5 to my armor charts. These items, which drop off Halion in normal mode Ruby Sanctum on the PTR, have been highlighted in a darker gray on my charts to differentiate them from other recently released Rogue gear from the past few patches.

Upgrading Your Computer To Prepare for Cataclysm

5/16/10

Blizzard recently announced the beginning of the Cataclysm Beta Opt-In. If you want to opt-in for the Beta, then you'll need to submit your current system specifications using their automated Battle.net System Check tool. That tool only collects limited information about your computer, so it doesn't have the capability to let you know if you'll actually meet the minimum system requirements for the upcoming Cataclysm expansion. Those minimum requirements haven't been announced yet, but it's safe to say that if your Rogue is having trouble moving around Northrend now, then Cataclysm may give your computer some problems once you upgrade.

So, if your system is acting sluggish these days, you'll probably want look into getting a hardware upgrade soon - - either upgrading components on your current computer or replacing it altogether with a new one. As someone who has been dual-boxing two accounts on the same three year old laptop, I'm keenly aware of the frustration caused by outdated hardware. Lately, my World of Warcraft load times have been taking forever, one or both accounts would crash any time I visited Dalaran, and the entire process had become pretty much unbearable. That is, until now... Now that I've installed a Solid State Drive...

Steps You Should Take To Protect Your Computer From Malware

5/13/10

In the aftermath of the recent attacks on my site, and reports of other high profile sites that have been compromised, I felt that it might be helpful if I put together a checklist of useful tips to help visitors protect their own computers from "Rogue" malware infections (viruses, trojans, keyloggers, rootkits, spyware, adware, etc.) which are designed to assault you with pop-ups, steal your passwords, compromise your personal information, crash your computer or just take over your entire system. A lot of this information should be common sense for most people by now, but a few of these techniques may be new to some of you...

Steps You Should Take To Protect Your Computer From Malware

ShadowPanther.net moved back to its old server

5/1/10

Several months ago, when I decided to try out blog/database software on my site, I had to move the website to a different server to accomodate the new software. Since moving to that server, my site has been hacked twice. And it wasn't just my site. Many other sites on that server were also hacked. The first time it happened, many blog sites running the same blogging software were hacked due to an apparent misconfiguration of the server's folder and file permissions which allowed hackers to compromise the SQL databases running those blogs. To prevent that from happening again, I removed the blog/database software from my site.

This time, the hackers managed to inject malware iframes and scripts into both blog/database sites and basic HTML sites like my own. I had hoped that removing the blog/database software would mitigate the problem, but apparently that wasn't enough. To prevent this from happening again, I have moved my site off of that server back onto the server that had been safely running my site for the previous 5 years.

I hope that this solution fixes the problem once and for all and I apologize to anyone who may have been adversely affected by these events. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

WARNING: My site was hacked...again

5/1/10

I received several e-mails from visitors this morning letting me know that my site was serving up malware. I have cleaned up the immediate threat and I'm taking measures to prevent this from happening again. I will be switching servers today, so my main site may be down for a day or so. As always, you can visit my Mirror Site during the downtime. I will provide more information soon.

Updated Northrend Guide for Rogues and Updated PVP Armories Chart

4/25/10

I've finally gotten around to making a few minor updates to my Northrend Guide for Rogues for the 3.3.3 patch. As always, if you previously purchased the guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in your "Order Info" e-mail to download the updated guide. If your Download Link has already expired, you can use that link to request an additional download. If you've lost or deleted your "Order Info" email, contact me and I'll send you a copy for your records.

I've also updated my PVP Armories Chart to reflect the current state of some of the top PVP Rogues. Mutilate is still the most popular spec, but there are many Rogues effectively using Shadow Dance specs at high level Arena. Some of the specific trends I noticed include:

Updated Prices for BG PVP Gear and other changes

4/19/10

I've updated the prices for all PVP gear on my armor and weapons charts to reflect the removal of the Battleground Marks of Honor in patch 3.3.3. For the most part, this really doesn't affect high level Rogue gear, but will make a difference for any Twinks who may have been saving up BG Marks of Honor. Now those Marks of Honor can be turned in for 185 Honor Points each. The Honor prices for items that previously required BG Marks of Honor have all been increased slightly, but usually no more than a few hundred Honor Points higher than their previous prices.

In addition to those chart updates, I've also made a slight change to the way the Wowhead Tooltips script loads on all of my charts and pages. I've moved that script to the bottom of each chart and page so they should now load up and display faster before that external script goes into effect. I've been researching ways to help my pages and charts load quicker and putting scripts towards the bottom seems to help. I hardly run any scripts on my site to begin with, because I like to keep it clean and simple. Hopefully these changes I've been making lately will translate into a better overall user experience for you the visitor.

The Return of My RSS Feed and Other Site Improvements

4/15/10

I've spent the past two weeks fine-tuning the design and structure of the pages on my site. Hand coding web pages so that they look and work properly across three site formats (Main, Mirror and Secure) when viewed through eight various browsers in eight different languages can be a pretty daunting task. If that weren't enough, I've also figured out how to recreate my RSS Feed using the Atom feed format.

I think I'm finally happy with the design of my site. These past few months have been a real learning experience for me as I've progressed from using crude HTML to writing well-formed, semantic XHTML complete with a CSS stylesheet and now an XML feed. Now that I've gotten the site looking sharp, it's time to get back to updating my Rogue charts and other content on my site. With Cataclysm coming up, I know that I've got a lot of work ahead of me to prepare for this new expansion.

Everything should be back to normal now

4/4/10

During the course of "fixing" my website, I made some more design changes in order to streamline operations. Some of these changes I had already been working on before all of the insanity happened yesterday. The significant changes include:

  • I removed the sidebar from all of my pages and moved the Search, Translation and Twitter buttons up to the top right corner.
  • I validated all of the XHTML code on those pages, so my site should now work equally well in most major browsers.
  • During the course of validating the code, I made numerous improvements to help pages load even faster.
  • I moved the links under the "Guides" menu item into the "Misc." menu dropdown to free up some space.

I know my pages look a little more crowded as a result, but I found that the sidebar was just wasting a lot of space. As you can tell from looking at my charts, I like to pack a lot of information into a tightly controlled area. I've always valued function over form.

WARNING: My site may have been briefly infected with malware

4/3/10

It appears that the front page of my site may have been briefly infected with malware this morning. I have taken it down and replaced it with this new static front page. If you visited my site between the hours of 3am and 10am EDT, then your computer may have been infected.

To prevent this from ever happening again, I've taken drastic measures to alter the backend of my website, completely removing the dynamic blog/database portion of the site where the malware infection appears to have taken place. I had gone to great efforts to properly secure both the database and blog software, but it seems that it may not have been enough. From now on, all of my pages will be simple static pages, devoid of the bloat and complexity that may have contributed to this event.

Over the past few months, I had been trying to incorporate blog software into the site in order to add increased functionality. Instead, I've run into numerous issues with the site including slow access times and significant hassles whenever trying to modify features. This apparent malware infection was just the final straw that broke the camel's back.

So, with that in mind, I've now removed all of the blog/database portions of the site while still retaining the upgraded design elements I've worked so hard to tweak to perfection. RSS Feeds and Comments have also been removed, as they were built directly into the blog software. I may try to add RSS functionality back into the site at a later date, and as far as comments are concerned, you can always post comments to my Twitter page. Right now, my main concern is providing a safe, reliable website that works the way it's supposed to.

My apologies to anyone who may have been adversely affected by this situation. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

Corroded Skeleton Key added to my PVP Armor Chart

4/2/10

I want to thank Sloat for bringing the recently buffed Corroded Skeleton Key to my attention. When I first saw this trinket (which can be purchased for 60 Emblems of Frost and originally absorbed 3,200 damage over 20 seconds) I figured Tank trinket and moved on to the next item. But now that it has been buffed to absorb 6,400 damage over 10 seconds, this trinket stacks up well against Battlemaster's Rage.

If you're willing to give up some AP for more defensive capabilities, then you can switch to this trinket and get a very healthy Stamina increase along with a powerful "bubble" type effect. Corroded Skeleton Key has a shorter cooldown than Battlemaster's Rage and the bubble can protect you from DoTs/pets, allowing you to safely Vanish and attack from stealth.

In fact, Zodz, the 4th highest rated Rogue right now, is already using it. So, now I've finally gotten around to adding it to the Trinket section of my PVP Armor Chart. The exact AEP value of the Use effect (and even the Stamina) is up for debate, but I've scored it higher than the +Health effects from the Battlemaster trinkets due to the shorter cooldown, increased protection and the bubble effect helping with Vanish.

Updated 3.3.3 Rogue PVP Specs

3/29/10

A week has passed since the 3.3.3 patch released and some of the new Rogue PVP specs are beginning to emerge. I've added a few of those new specs to my Rogue PVP Specs chart. Some of the specs are based around the 11/X/53+ Shadow Dance build. This appears to be a very effective build, with 3 of the Top 10 Rogues currently using versions of that spec. Variants include 11/7/53, 11/5/55 and 11/0/60. Differences between the three flavors include points floating between Malice, Ruthlessness and Blood Spatter as well as swapping points between Dual Wield Specialization/Improved Slice and Dice and Initiative/Heightened Senses. Glyph choices vary widely from player to player, although Glyph of Shadow Dance seems to be a pretty standard choice.

I've also updated the similar 15+/0/52+ Shadow Dance spec on my Rogue PVP Specs chart, a spec which ignores Combat Talents and trades some of the utility talents from the Subtlety tree for more DPS-oriented talents from the Assassination tree. Common variants of that spec include 19/0/52, 17/0/54 and 16/0/55. I've also added another Mutilate variant to the chart, 46/0/25.

All of the specs listed above are Dagger specs, so you probably won't expect to see any competitive non-Dagger builds making a splash any time soon. However, I have included one token, non-dagger, "Fun BG" spec on the chart so daggerless Rogues won't feel completely left out.

3.3.3 Patch Changes

3/24/10

I've incorporated the 3.3.3 patch changes into the various resources on my site. Changes have been made to the following pages and charts:

Over the next few days, I'm going to go through those PVP & PVE specs charts, updating the old specs, adding new specs and removing some of the weaker specs that don't really apply anymore. I usually tend to keep old specs around on those charts just in case a new patch or other design change comes along that causes a previously outdated spec to return to the spotlight. The new buff to Rupture is one such change, allowing Rupture-based PVE builds to suddenly become useful again.

Site Design Improvements

3/21/10

I've spent the past week working on cleaning up the HTML on my site and improving some of the design elements throughout. Many of my older pages now have the new sidebar added on. I've also added a navigation bar with drop-down menus to the top of most pages to help visitors more easily find whatever they're seeking. In addition to those changes, I've also consolidated a lot of the HTML code to improve page access times and increase overall performance. Eventually I'll get around to tweaking my Excel-based charts to see if I can find a way to make those load faster too.

Enchants finally added to my 19-59 Twink Charts

3/10/10

It's been way overdue, but I've finally added an Enchantments section to my 19-59 Twink Armor and Twink Weapons charts. With this built-in section (located on the far right side of both charts), players will be able to easily see which enchants are best and how certain items rank higher than others simply because those items can benefit from better enchants.

Items in the 29 & 39 brackets that qualify for Burning Crusade (BC) enchants generally score higher than items that don't. The same holds true for items in the 49 & 59 brackets that qualify for Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) enchants. Conversely, Heirloom gear tends to become less useful at higher levels because those items cannot be enchanted with the higher quality enchants.

In both charts, items that qualify for the higher level enchants have a bold BC/WotLK notation listed in the Special column, with the AEP bonus added to the PVP field. In the 49 & 59 brackets, Heirloom items have been given a "penalty" that reflects the reduced AEP value of those items when enchanted with inferior enchants.

In addition to these changes, I'm also in the process of adjusting my Twink AEP values (beginning with Stamina and Hit Rating in the 30-39 bracket) based on feedback I've received from several players. If you are an avid player in any of the Rogue Twink brackets, take a look at my updated charts and let me know if you see any items or AEP values that really seem out of whack.

Better Implementation of User Comments

3/2/10

I've corrected an issue that was preventing people from being able to post comments to my articles. To encourage feedback, I've removed the user registration requirement, so readers can now quickly and easily post questions, suggestions, etc. To respond to any article, just click on the title of the article or the little "chat bubble" at the top right to be taken directly to the discussion page.

Updated Northrend Guide for Rogues

2/20/10

I have made several updates to my Northrend Guide for Rogues for the 3.3.2 patch and Arena Season 8.

Note: Just hours before I was ready to release this latest update to the guide, Blizzard announced their brand new 3.3.3 PTR Patch Notes, so I haven't had a chance to incorporate any of those upcoming changes into the guide.

PVP Gear price corrections and other updates

2/18/10

I've gone through my armor charts correcting all of the price and source information for PVP gear. Every season when new gear is released, all of the prices and availabilities on old PVP gear gets adjusted, which is a real pain to update on my various charts. Most of my initial efforts each season are directed towards adding all of the new season's gear and updating AEP formulas, but I know that I'll have to eventually go back and change all of the source information on the old gear.

Tracking down the numerous PVP gear vendors (Dalaran Sewers, Dalaran Emblem vendors, Stormwind, Isle of Quel'Danas, Netherstorm, Tanaris, etc.) to make sure I haven't missed anything is the most annoying part. Wowhead's database is usually pretty good at tracking these changes, but even some of that information can be listed incorrectly. So I usually try to verify many of those prices myself by visiting each of the vendors, which can be rather time consuming.

In addition to the PVP gear changes, I've also updated a few other items with recently changed stats and made a few other corrections throughout. Of particular note are the PVP items that have been added to my Starter Gear charts as well as older PVP items that get removed from circulation and can no longer be purchased. In the latter case, the items remain on my charts but I change the source information for those items to "No Longer Available".

Updated AEP/MAEP values

2/14/10

I've updated the AEP/MAEP values on all of my charts. I've incorporated the increased value of Resilience into my PVP AEP formulas and made some adjustments to weapon DPS & speed values in my PVE MAEP formulas. Other values received some minor adjustments as well, and all of those changes are reflected on my Pawn scales page.

The Return of my PVP Rogue Armories chart

2/8/10

I've decided to bring back my PVP Rogue Armories chart, but with one significant modification. I will no longer be tracking specific "noteworthy and influential PVP Rogues", but instead will be taking a snapshot of 20 of the top PVP Rogues as listed on SK Gaming's Rogue rankings. Trying to keep up with a particular set of PVP Rogues became too much trouble, as some of them would switch to PVE specs, take breaks from PVP or just stop playing altogether. Now, the chart will simply list data from 20 of the top PVP Rogues to give players a better idea of the current PVP environment.

Here are some of the trends I noticed while compiling this information:

  • Mutilate is still king, with most specs falling in the 44+/X/23+ range with some minor variations
  • About half of the top PVP Rogues use fast offhand weapons while the rest still seem to prefer slow offhands
  • 26,500 Health, 950 Resilience, 4,800 AP and 38% Crit looks to be about the average for top PVP Rogues
  • Most of the top PVP Rogues have paired up an Ashen Band reputation ring with their PVP ring
  • Many of the top Rogues use Battlemaster's Rage along with their PVP trinket
  • Relentless Earthsiege Diamond and AP gems are pretty much the standard for PVP Rogues across the board
  • The standard weapon enchantments continue to be MH Berserking and OH Titanium Weapon Chain
  • Armor enchantments vary from player to player, with some preferring AP/Res over AP/Crit enchants
  • Aside from the standard Mutilate glyph, Sprint and Vigor are the next most common glyph choices
  • Blood Elves, Undead and Humans are some of the more popular Rogue races being used in high level PVP
  • Engineering is a clear favorite as far as professions are concerned, with Jewelcrafting being a close second

Lich King and new 3.3.2 Wintergrasp Items

2/3/10

Thanks to the excellent work over at MMO-Champion, I've updated my charts with all of the Lich King loot as well as the new 3.3.2 Wintergrasp gear. I also corrected a few errors from the chart updates I'd posted earlier this morning (thanks Iords).

Patch 3.3.2 and Season 8 PVP Gear

2/3/10

I've updated my charts with the new Season 8 PVP gear released in patch 3.3.2 yesterday. I've also adjusted the prices for most of the previous season's gear. Eventually I'll get around to updating my AEP formulas with the recent change to the value of Resilience, so the current PVP gear rankings will see a bit of adjusting.

Various Site Updates

1/31/10

I've made numerous updates to my site including:

  • Updating the source and drop % on much of the recently added 3.3 gear in my charts
  • Separating "FH" gear into Forge of Souls (FoS), Pit of Saron (PoS) and Halls of Reflection (HoR) on my charts
  • Correcting the socket bonuses on many 3.3 items that previously had unknown socket bonuses
  • Adding new Twink loot which can be obtained from Satchels after completing "Classic Random" Dungeon Finder quests
  • Adding a bold "BC Enchantable" to the "Notes" column of applicable items in the 20-29 range of my Twink charts
  • Updating base racial stats on my Races chart to reflect changes made in 3.3

Updated PVP Specs

1/21/10

After researching the specs of top PVP Rogues from SK Gaming's Rogue rankings, I've updated my PVP Specs page, moving the 41/5/25 spec down to the bottom of the page, replacing it with the more effective 44/4/23 Mutilate Spec. That spec is very similar to the 44/2/25 spec also listed on that page, with points taken out of Heightened Senses to put into Dual Wield Specialization. With both of those specs, you're free to move 2 to 3 points in the Assassination tree between Find Weakness, Deadened Nerves, Focused Attacks and Improved Kidney Shot, depending upon your team composition, playstyle and personal preferences.

I've also updated the Glyph choices for those specs, with Mutilate, Sprint and Vigor appearing to be the standard choices amongst most top PVP Rogues, although some prefer the Cloak of Shadows glyph.

Chart Updates - Tiny Abomination and Heartpierce

1/15/10

I've updated my charts, assigning AEP/MAEP values to the special ability of Tiny Abomination in a Jar while at the same time reducing the value of Heartpierce's special ability. It seems that Blizzard has recently changed the mechanics behind these types of proc effects, preventing them from proccing off of poisons. This has resulted in both items becoming weaker than their previously overpowered versions, so they now fall more in line with similar iLvl items in terms of overall power.

I'd also intended to update my AEP/MAEP formulas after the previous set of nerfs (Hunger for Blood/Poison AP damage), but after evaluating the changes, I didn't notice any particularly major changes in updated stat values that merited a complete overhaul of my AEP/MAEP formulas. Making minor changes to those formulas requires me to alter values and re-sort item rankings in about 30 different charts in addition to my AEP/MAEP and Pawn scale pages. That's a whole lot of extra work for a minimal effect, so I'll usually wait until more significant changes take place before I undertake a major revision to my charts like that.

I want to make it clear that the AEP/MAEP formulas I use in my charts are more of a starting point rather than any type of hard and fast rule. I try to assign values that make sense, resulting in item rankings that end up in the general ballpark of where you expect them to be. If scores or rankings start to get out of whack, people usually let me know, and I'll reevaluate them as necessary. But that's just the nature of static item charts. Stat values will always vary depending upon a multitude of factors (talent spec, buffs, attack rotations, your other gear, etc.), so a static chart is never going to be the perfect solution for evaluating your gear.

One factor that you always need to keep in mind when using my charts is how I value stats with caps. Expertise gives little to no additional benefit once you go over its cap, so I've assigned AEP/MAEP values for Expertise based on the assumption that you're still beneath that cap. The value I've listed for Hit Rating assumes you're above the Specials and Poisons hit caps, but have not yet reached the White Hit cap. You can read more about the Expertise cap, Hit caps and other stat caps here. For more precise PVE DPS calculations, you'll probably want to consult a spreadsheet, several of which can be found here.

As always, if you disagree with any of my AEP/MAEP values or item rankings, you can simply download the .XLS versions of my charts and input whatever values work best for you. Many players like to pull stat values out of their favorite spreadsheet and plug them directly into my charts for a more convenient gear ranking solution tailored to their specific needs.

Website back up

1/10/10

My website was experiencing some technical difficulties this morning. These issues should be resolved now.

My website conversion is now complete

1/8/10

I've finally completed the conversion of my website, which includes the following resources:

Now that I've finished converting my old pages over to the new design, I can get back to updating my charts and other content.

Numerous updates today

1/7/10

I've made numerous updates to my site today, including the following:

Design Conversions

Design Conversion & Page Update

Chart Updates

  • Level 80 Armor charts (Updated both versions of Deathbringer's Will with the new Haste proc and corrected the link to Ashen Band of Endless Vengeance)

Note: I previously applied a +4 Agility socket bonus to all new/upcoming items on my armor and weapons charts that have sockets with unknown socket bonuses. I did this to make it easier to compare those items to similar iLvl items without sockets. Some of those socket bonuses may have already been discovered by now, but I just haven't had the time to update them on my charts. If you see any socket bonuses on my charts (listed in italics) that don't match up, that's probably why. I'll update them as soon as I can.

My broken Contact Form has been fixed

1/6/10

Apparently, my Contact Form stopped working properly once I released my new site design and I just found out about it today. So, I've created a new Contact Form (using the updated page design) that should be operational now. If you tried to send me a message in the last few days, then you'll probably want to re-send it.

If you experience any more problems with my Contact Form, you can always e-mail me directly at one of the e-mail addresses listed on that page. Alternatively, you could just send a quick message to my Twitter account.

Zodar's Rogue Leveling Tips has been converted

1/5/10

It took me a while, but I've finally figured out how to transfer most of the design elements of the new layout into one of my existing pages. You can see the results here:

Zodar's Rogue Leveling Tips

I'm still tweaking the format here and there, but for the most part, I'm pretty happy with the results. Now that I've straightened that out, it should be pretty easy for me to convert the rest of my static pages. As far as my Excel-based charts are concerned, I don't currently have any plans to modify their design, but anything's possible.

Still working on the site switchover

1/4/10

Updates are going to be short and simple over the next few days as I learn the ins and outs of this blogging software. Considering that for the past six years I've simply been using a basic text editor to design my site, this new framework poses a major learning curve for me. There are so many options to consider and hurdles to overcome as I work on integrating all of the old content into the new layout. Meanwhile, my e-mail has been piling up for the last few weeks as I've focused most of my time on the new site design. Oh well, one thing at a time...

Welcome to the new ShadowPanther.net!

1/3/10

Happy New Year and welcome to the new ShadowPanther.net! This site redesign is in response to a lot of your comments and I really hope you like it. In addition to a more user-friendly interface, I've included the ability to subscribe to an RSS feed, directly comment on blog posts and share your favorite posts on Twitter and Facebook.

This new layout is still a work in progress, so bear with me as I go through the process of converting all of my old pages. As always, there's still plenty of room for improvement and I'm open to suggestions and ideas, so let me know what you think!

Thank you for your continued support!

12/30/09

I've made a few adjustments to my level 80 AEP/MAEP formulas to correct stat values.

12/28/09

I've finally gotten around to updating my level 80 AEP/MAEP formulas for the 3.3 patch.
MAEP values have changed across the board, so you'll now notice major changes in item
rankings as a result. ArP and Crit have decreased in value while AP, Hit, Haste and Exp
have all increased in value. The values I've assigned to offhand weapon speeds have also
been increased significantly. Gems & socket values have been adjusted for these effects.
These changes have also been incorporated into my Armor Sets chart and Pawn scales.
As always, you can download my .XLS charts to use any values that work best for you.

12/15/09

I've added more items and updated all of the links now that Wowhead is finally updated.

12/13/09

I've added dozens of items to my charts, thanks to the terrific work at MMO-Champion.

12/9/09

I have made several updates to my Northrend Guide for Rogues for the 3.3 patch. If you
previously purchased the guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in your
"Order Info" e-mail to download the updated guide. If your Download Link has already
expired, you can use that link to request an additional download. If you've lost or deleted
your "Order Info" email, contact me and I'll send you a copy for your records. Thanks!!!

12/8/09

I have updated numerous charts and other resources for the 3.3.0 patch released today.

12/4/09

I've updated my Rogue Powerleveling Chart, adding all of the BoA heirloom gear while
removing all invalid enchantments from the low level enchantments sections of the chart.

12/3/09

I have updated the PVE Resources section of my Rogue Links page to reflect the patch
versions covered by each of the major spreadsheets currently in use by raiding Rogues.

12/2/09

I have finished updating source information for all 3.3 items thanks to MMO-Champion.

12/1/09

When I originally developed my Starter Gear charts, they were intended for Rogues who
were having a tough time finding groups - - players who had to rely on gearing up mostly
through solo efforts. For the most part, I limited those charts to gear that could easily be
crafted, purchased or acquired from quests with minimal instancing or group assistance. I
knew from experience that it can be hard for a Rogue to get into groups sometimes, and
once you did, you were often competing against half the party for decent loot. With the
upcoming Dungeon Finder system, getting into groups should be easier than ever, so I'm
now adding 5-man Dungeon/Heroic loot and Emblem items to my Starter Gear charts.

11/30/09

I've fixed an error in my 51-60 & 60-69 Twink formulas that was causing sockets to be
valued a tad high. Despite this change, socket values will vary depending upon your own
situation, as you wouldn't waste epic gems in leveling gear but might want them for PVP.

11/29/09

I've added more items to my charts while updating badge prices and source location info.

11/28/09

I've added dozens more 3.3 items to my charts. I've also fixed a few items that changed.

11/27/09

I have overhauled my Rogue Stat Formulas page to show the progression of stat values
from level 80 all the way down to level 1, based on Combat Rating ratios and stat value
calculations, courtesy of Whitetooth, the author of RatingBuster. I have incorporated the
updated AEP/MAEP values derived from that chart into all of my other charts, resulting
in a slight reordering of overall item rankings throughout. My Pawn scales page has also
been updated, with new scales having been added for each of the Twink level brackets.
As always, you can download my .XLS charts to use any values that work best for you.

11/16/09

I've added a few more items and updated links and source information on many others.

11/15/09

I've finished adding all of the currently known 3.3 items to my weapons and amor charts
(thanks to MMO-Champion), but I'm still waiting for Wowhead to update all of its links.

11/14/09

I've added a few more 3.3 weapons to my charts. I'll be adding more 3.3 armor next.

11/13/09

I have added dozens of new Icecrown Citadel items to my armor and weapons charts.

11/12/09

I've started adding new 3.3 gear to my charts, starting with badge & quest reward gear.

11/2/09

I've added specs (16/0/55 and 51/6/14) to my PVP Specs page. These specs are being
used by a few successful Rogues listed in the top 500 of SK Gaming's Rogue Rankings.

11/1/09

I've made a few updates to all of my armor and weapons charts. I corrected the source
information for previous season Arena items (some of which are no longer available, yet
others now can be obtained by collecting armor tokens from BC raids.) I also removed
inferior items from many of those charts to reduce chart sizes and speed up downloads.
I also added new Twink Pawn scales for low level twink gear to my Pawn scales page.

10/31/09

I've corrected some errors in the uptime calculations for trinkets in my level 80 charts.
Those adjustments have resulted in a slight reordering of the rankings of those trinkets.

10/18/09

I have corrected a mistake in my Pawn formulas that was causing weapon speeds to be
calculated incorrectly. I have also added the new Headless Horseman gear to my charts.

10/17/09

I finally decided to powerlevel Engineering for both of my Rogues so they could have the
ability to shock one another back to life whenever either would perish while dual boxing
my way through instances. This project has inspired me to develop a new powerleveling
guide. However, unlike other powerleveling guides, this spreadsheet gives you the ability
to select alternate schematics, calculate material costs and customize your own personal
powerleveling plan based on resource availabilities and AH price fluctuations. Enjoy!!!

Powerleveling Spreadsheet for Engineering

You can find more information about
this new powerleveling guide here.

9/25/09

I've made several updates to my Northrend Guide for Rogues for the 3.2.2 patch. If you
previously purchased the guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in your
"Order Info" e-mail to download the updated guide. If your Download Link has already
expired, you can use that link to request an additional download. If you've lost or deleted
your "Order Info" email, contact me and I'll send you a copy for your records. Thanks!!!

9/23/09

I've finally gotten around to updating my level 80 AEP/MAEP formulas for the 3.2/3.2.2
patches. Armor Penetration, which received a nerf in this latest patch, actually increased
in value in my Combat MAEP formula, since it seems that I was previously undervaluing
it. All of these changes have also been added to my Armor Sets chart and Pawn scales.
As always, you can download my .XLS charts to use any values that work best for you.

9/22/09

I've added all of the new Direbrew gear to my charts, including the iLvl 226 BoE Mace.

9/19/09

In preparation for the 3.2.2 patch, I've made updates to my PVE and PVP talent specs.

9/3/09

I've made numerous changes to my site to include adding all Arena Season 7 gear to my
charts, updating the prices for Arena Season 6 gear, moving Deadly/Furious items to my
Starter Gear charts, updating source and location information for most 3.2 items as well
as all heirloom items. I have also updated my Blacksmithing and Leatherworking guides.

8/18/09

I finally got around to updating my PVP Armories Chart. I was interested to see if any
of them had actually been using the Fan of Knives build before it gets nerfed. Just one.

8/17/09

I have updated my Northrend Guide for Rogues for the 3.2 patch. I've added a few new
sections to the guide as well as updating information in several other sections. If you have
previously purchased the guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in your
"Order Info" e-mail to download the updated guide. If your Download Link has already
expired, you can use that link to request an additional download. If you've lost or deleted
your "Order Info" email, contact me and I'll send you a copy for your records. Thanks!!!

8/14/09

I've added several items from the 3.2.2 Onyxia's Lair to my Armor & Weapons charts.

8/13/09

I've added the new Heirloom chest and mace to my Twink Armor and Weapons charts.
I've also corrected some errors and added a few more items to some of my other charts.

8/12/09

I have updated my Talent Specs, Glyphs chart and Leveling Tips page with 3.2 changes.

8/11/09

I have updated numerous resources on my site with various changes from the 3.2 patch,
including Armor, Weapons, Professions, Consumables, Enchantments and Gems charts.

8/10/09

I've added 50+ items to my Armor charts, many with same names but different iLvl/stats.

8/9/09

I've added more weapons to my Weapons charts as well as increasing the value of gems
in my endgame Armor and Weapons charts. I have updated my Pawn page accordingly.
I'll add items to my Armor charts and update my Professions/Enchantments charts soon.

7/28/09

I added a few more 3.2 items to my charts and I updated all of the new drop locations.

7/21/09

I've added more 3.2 items to my Armor and Weapons charts while updating item links.

7/12/09

I've added 3.2 items to my Weapons charts and added more items to my Armor charts.

7/11/09

I have started adding new 3.2 gear to my Armor charts. I'll be adding the weapons next.

6/18/09

In preparation for the 3.2 patch, I have started adding Axes to my main weapons charts.

6/14/09

I've updated AEP/MAEP socket values in my charts to match my Gems charts. Those
adjustments have also been reflected on my Pawn and AEP/MAEP Formulas pages.

5/16/09

I've made numerous improvements to my site. I have finished updating the AEP/MAEP
formulas in all of my charts. I've incorporated various 3.1.2 Rogue changes throughout,
and I revised my Glyphs, PVE & PVP specs charts to provide more useful information.

5/15/09

I've been working on a complete overhaul of my level 80 charts & formulas the past few
weeks. I've removed many unnecessary fields like Armor, Defense, Parry & Dodge and
used that extra space to add several new PVE MAEP columns - - one each for Mutilate
Combat and HAT ratings. In addition to those changes, I have made some considerable
modifications to the way I rate and rank weapons. This is all still a work in progress and
some of my charts haven't been updated yet, but I think many players should find the end
results more useful. I've gone ahead and updated my Pawn scales with the new formulas.

5/2/09

I have updated stats on recently buffed Leatherworking items on my Twink Armor chart.

5/1/09

I have finally gotten around to answering the 100+ e-mails that were filling up my inbox.

4/30/09

I have adjusted the AEP value of Engineering gear on my charts to reflect current trends.

4/29/09

I've updated my Leveling Tips page and Twink Specs chart with the latest talent changes.

4/28/09

I have updated my PVP Rogue Armories chart for the first time in this new Arena season.

I've added some more items to my charts and I've updated Wowhead links for S6 gear.

4/22/09

I've updated my Weapon and Armor charts with several more drops from Ulduar bosses.

4/19/09

I've added several more items to my charts in addition to updating source info for T8 gear.

4/18/09

I've updated my Weapon and Armor charts with over a dozen recently discovered items.

4/17/09

I've updated the AEP/MAEP formulas in my charts with the PPM and Armor Penetration
changes. Those formulas may still need to be tweaked a little bit to achieve better results.
As always, you can download my .XLS charts to use whatever values work best for you.

4/16/09

I've fixed most of the links that were pointing to the old Wowhead PTR pages. Next I'll be
updating my AEP/MAEP formulas to incorporate the PPM & Armor Penetration changes.

4/16/09

I've updated my Talent Calculator and PVE and PVP talent spec pages with the 3.1 talent
changes. I have also updated my Glyphs chart and my List of Rogue Nerfs, Buffs & Fixes.

4/14/09

Patch 3.1 came out today, but I've been so busy working on other projects that I haven't
been able to update much other than the new/changed items over the past few weeks. To
give you an idea, I have over 50 unanswered emails sitting in my Inbox with more coming
in each day. I plan on updating the remaining stuff affected by the patch as soon as I can.

3/27/09

Today's updates include Ulduar 10/25 and a few Season 6 items from Vault of Archavon.

3/21/09

I've updated my Armor and Weapons charts with all of the latest Ulduar 10 & 25 items.

3/20/09

I have added dozens more Ulduar 10/25 items to my armor charts, including Tier 8 gear.

3/12/09

I've finally gotten around to updating my PVP Armories chart. 41/5/25 still seems to be
the most popular spec, although some Rogues are having success with Shadow Dance.

3/10/09

I have added numerous Ulduar 10 & Ulduar 25 items to my Armor and Weapons charts.

3/6/09

I've added Argent Tournament and Ulduar 25 Emblem of Conquest items to my charts.

2/24/09

I've updated my Armor & Glyphs charts with changes being introduced in the 3.1 patch.

2/4/09

I have updated my armor charts by listing Archavon drops with "VoA" in the source field.
I've also revised my Pawn page to clear up a bit of confusion about which scales to use.

2/3/09

For those who like to farm honor for their PVE & PVP starter gear, I've added all of the
Hateful Gladiator items which do not require any Arena ratings to my Starter Gear charts.

2/2/09

Since Heirloom items were announced, various sites have posted conflicting information
concerning these items. Originally, it was believed that they only changed stats every ten
levels, but apparently their stats improve every level. I have updated my all of my Twink
charts to reflect the most accurate stats I could find. Thanks to Kerb for your assistance.

1/30/09

If you've been farming Zandalar rep to enchant Zandalar Signet of Might on your twink's
heirloom shoulders, you can stop now. Blizzard stealth nerfed that enchantment in 3.0.8.
However, you can still enchant them with Greater Inscription of the Gladiator, for now...

1/28/09

I have updated multiple pages on my site over the past week. Significant changes include
updated dagger MAEP values, trinket ratings, Pawn scales and numerous updates to my
Rogue Links page, which now has separate 1v1 & 2v2 strategies vs. counter-strategies.

1/21/09

I have updated my charts for the 3.0.8 patch. My BS & LW guides were also updated.

1/16/09

I am frequently asked if I know of any useful sites for other classes. Well, here you go:

Links to Other Class Sites

1/10/09

Today ends three straight months of daily updates to my site. I hope everyone likes the
improvements I've been making. Now that I've finally finished my "To Do" list, it's time
for me to take a short break from working on the site to actually play the game. Enjoy!

1/9/09

I've added 3.0.8 Hyperspeed Accelerators to my Enchantments and Professions charts.
I also added Quicklinks to my Weapons charts. Thanks to Frank for your contributions.

1/8/09

I have made a few updates to enchantments in my Powerleveling Chart thanks to Chaisy.

1/7/09

I've added Quicklinks to my enchantments charts as well as links within my armor charts
that point to the corresponding enchant sections. Thanks to Oscassey for the great idea!

1/6/09

I've fixed a few issues thanks to help from Brandon, Shockin, Jag, Serennia and Diamue.

1/5/09

I have made more updates to my Links page and fixed some issues on a few other pages.

1/4/09

I have updated my Powerleveling Guide for Blacksmithing with an optimal path up to 440.

1/3/09

Here's a simple notepad I use to answer frequently asked questions on the Rogue forums.

Zodar's Notepad

1/2/09

I've corrected the titles in all of my charts so that they'll properly display in your taskbar.

1/1/09

I've added more updates to the 2v2 Strats and 1v1 Matchups sections of my Links page.
I also added Zandalar Signet of Might to the enchants section of my Powerleveling chart.

12/31/08

I have updated my weapons charts with the nerfed 3.0.8 stats for Blacksmithing weapons.

12/30/08

I have populated the 2v2 Strats and 1v1 Matchups sections of my Rogue Links page with
multiple links. Players should find this information useful when researching PVP strategies.

12/29/08

I have added a Secure mirror to my site for those who can only access secure "https" sites.

12/28/08

I have updated my Rogue Links page with current level 80 2v2 Strats. I have also added a
new 1v1 Matchups section. I'll be adding more strategies to those sections as they emerge.

12/27/08

I have added Minor and Major Glyph recommendations to my Rogue Leveling Tips page.

12/26/08

After updating my PVP Rogue Armories chart, it seems that 41/5/25 variants are emerging
as the most popular specs currently. The main difference between their specs appears to be
the choice between 2-3 points in Assassination - either Improved Kidney Shot, Deadened
Nerves or Focused Attacks. I have updated my PVP Specs and Twink Specs accordingly.

12/25/08

I've updated several charts on my site in the past few days. I added chart summaries to my
Races and Professions charts, I updated gem information in my Gems charts and I added a
"Hard Hitting MH" PVP dagger section back into my Daggers and Starter Weapons charts.
I also removed some outdated and inferior items from my charts to improve performance.

12/24/08

I have revised my Powerleveling Guide for Leatherworking with an optimal path up to 450.

12/23/08

I have added a Google Translate feature to my site to help foreign visitors find information.

12/22/08

I've added several recently introduced 3.0.8 items to my Armor and Enchantments charts.

12/21/08

I have updated my Armor and Weapons charts to reflect current information regarding S5
PVP gear. Some items can be bought with Honor Points, others require Honor Points and
Arena points, while others can be obtained with Emblems of Valor or Heroism. All Savage
Gladiator and Hateful Gladiator weapons have been removed since those weapons do not
seem to be currently in game. Thanks to Vifor and Musabi for submitting item corrections.

12/20/08

I've added more updates to my Leveling Tips and fixed an error thanks to Shadycreeper.

12/19/08

I've added Heirloom weapons to my Leveling Tips. I also fixed an issue sent in by morde.

12/18/08

I've replaced the obsolete SF/Hemo spec from my PVP Specs chart with a Shadowdance
Daggers spec. I've also updated the version I already had listed on my Twink Specs chart.

12/17/08

Now that Arena Season 5 has begun, I've started updating my PVP Armories chart again.
I've also corrected some issues with my Talent Spec charts in addition to an error in TCrit
calculations in some of my charts. Thanks to Dane, Jag & Jayc for submitting corrections.

12/16/08

I've added Race and Profession content to my Leveling Tips page, in addition to updating
my Rogue Links page and a few of my armor charts. Thanks to Ton, Silvus, and David P.

12/15/08

I have updated my FAQ to address several issues and provide information about my site.

12/14/08

I've finished updating most of my charts in an effort to improve their overall effectiveness.

Improvements include:

1. I completely overhauled my AEP/MAEP formulas to reflect current PVP/PVE trends.
2. I adjusted Dagger & OH weapon speed MAEP weights to reflect raid weapon values.
3. I added a Meta Socket column to my armor charts so players could alter those values.
4. I added Quicklinks to my armor charts to give you easier navigation between sections.

The first two changes have caused item rankings to change a bit, which is to be expected.
As always, you can download my .XLS charts to use whatever values work best for you.

12/13/08

I'm making some major updates to all of my charts, which should be ready in a day or so.

12/12/08

I've corrected several items on my charts today thanks to Genji, nbcaffeine & Twinsteel.

12/11/08

Apparently, someone found out that Rogues were still having fun using older PVP gloves
with a superior special ability (Deadly Throw Interrupt), so the fun's over when the next
patch comes out. Fan of Knives and Feint also receive changes. More information here.

12/10/08

Players often ask why I don't include slow offhand weapons like Unholy Persuader, Pride
or The Stray on my weapons charts. The answer to this is that Rogues benefit more from
having a fast offhand weapon for increased poison procs and similar proc effects. If your
Rogue is Combat Fists, then you'll be more effective wielding a faster offhand dagger like
Librarian's Paper Cutter since Close Quarters Combat affects daggers and fist weapons.

12/9/08

There are 2 items (Amanitar Skullbow & Fury of the Encroaching Storm) that seem to have
conflicting stats depending on where you look. Thanks to Sutri and Graon for the heads up.

12/8/08

I've corrected and added more items thanks to submissions sent in by Rekless and Jaikon.

12/7/08

I have corrected several items on my charts. Thanks to Shadycreeper, Hooty and Rodney.

12/6/08

Every one of my armor charts has been updated with corrected level information and drop
percentages. I have also increased the value of meta sockets to better reflect their worth.

12/5/08

I've updated listings for incorrectly labeled Nexus Heroic armor items on my charts. I have
also added a couple of links to my Links page. Thanks to Grant, Tstki, TFB and Drayner.

12/4/08

I've updated all of my weapons charts with corrected faction/level information. Previously,
Wowhead was listing many of those weapons as being Alliance or Horde-only, some with
higher level requirements than they were supposed to have. Now that Wowhead has fixed
their data, I've gone through my weapons charts making corrections as needed. The most
noticeable result from these changes is that more weapons have been added to my 60-69
and 70-79 Twink/Leveling charts. I will be updating my armor charts in the next few days.

12/3/08

I've made a few minor updates to items on my charts, thanks to submissions from David P.

12/2/08

I've discontinued my Raid Mutilate Daggers chart and replaced the Dagger MAEP formula
in all of my Weapons Charts with the Raid Mutilate Dagger MAEP formula. Since Mutilate
is the prevalent PVE Dagger spec, then it makes since to use that formula for Raid Dagger
ratings. My traditional Dagger AEP formula will still favor "Hard Hitting" daggers for use in
PVP/Twinking/Leveling. I've also updated my "SP MAEP Dag" Pawn formula accordingly.

12/1/08

I have made a significant number of updates to my armor and weapons charts today. I've
finished adding Heirloom items to my Armor charts, Twink charts and Powerleveling chart.
I've also added all of the WotLK "of the Bandit" items (blue & green) to my various charts.

Heirloom weapons aren't optimal for Twink BGs but rank well in my Powerleveling Chart.

11/29/08

I've added Heirloom weapons to my Twink Weapons Chart (some with estimated stats).

11/28/08

I've fixed a few errors on my charts. Thanks to Eloradius, Gondann, Agrippa and Drooler.

11/27/08

Over the years, I have received multiple requests for an AEP/MAEP comparison of racial
abilities. Many of those abilities are hard to quantify, so feel free to use your own values.

Rogue Races Chart

11/26/08

I've created a chart comparing professions to help players determine the optimal choices.

Rogue Professions Chart

11/25/08

I've updated my Rogue Links, removing the outdated WotLK & Rogue Tanking sections
while adding new links to other sections. Recently added links have been marked "NEW".

11/24/08

I've switched all of the "wotlk.wowhead" links in my charts over to "www.wowhead" links.
Hopefully, that change should improve access time to those external Wowhead tooltip/links.

11/23/08

I've updated my weapons and armor charts with corrected drop/quest locations. I've also
re-sorted all of the WotLK items into sections by location in my Armor Locations chart.

11/22/08

I've added some newly discovered items to my charts as well as correcting several errors.
Thanks to Hoods, Ikon, Gornak, Fungus and Santawest for sending in those corrections.

11/21/08

I've finally gotten around to adding the WotLK PVE & PVP sets to my Armor Sets chart.

11/20/08

I'm still in the process of tweaking AEP/MAEP values to get better results, and as always,
trinket values are going to be all over the place until I can pin down proc chances, ability
uptimes, etc. I've also converted socket values in my charts to correspond to WotLK rare
gem AEP/MAEP ratings. So, if you don't plan on using newer gems in your leveling gear,
then you'll want to adjust socket values accordingly. I've also updated Pawn configuration
settings for players who use that mod, adding a new scale for Raid Mutilate MH Daggers.

11/19/08

Some items in my armor/weapons charts were missing ArP values, which I've now fixed.

11/18/08

I've updated my Starter Gear charts to help players prepare for endgame PVE & PVP.

11/17/08

I have updated my 51-60 AV and 60-69 BG armor/weapons charts with WotLK gear.

11/16/08

I've also created new Twink Armor Charts for the 61-70 AV and 70-79 BG brackets.

I've updated my weapons charts with current item information and drop/quest locations.

11/13/08

I've updated item info and drop/quest locations on my Level 70 & Level 80 armor charts.

11/12/08

I'm currently working on updating various charts in preparation for the release of WotLK.

11/11/08

I've made multiple updates to my site today, including updating my Powerleveling Chart.
Also, it appears that Figurine - Shadowsong Panther does not have a 1 minute cooldown
as it's currently listed on Wowhead. I have updated my armor charts to correct that error.
Thanks to Drumbum, Guzim and Tristan for sending in corrections and other submissions.

11/10/08

I've updated my PVP Armories, my Rogue Nerfs/Buffs List and my Rogue Links page.

11/9/08

I've updated the PVP gloves on my armor charts with the inferior Kick cooldown ability.

11/8/08

I've updated my Stealth Chart for 3.0.2/3.0.3. I've also updated Figurine - Shadowsong
Panther
on my armor charts, another trinket which had its cooldown reduced to 1 minute.
* * * Correction: It seems this trinket does not actually have a 1 minute cooldown. * * *

11/7/08

To help people navigate my site more easily, I've consolidated my Twink Resources here:

Shadow Panther's Twink Resources

11/6/08

I have updated various charts and other pages to account for minor 3.0.3 patch changes.

11/5/08

I have made several updates today, adding a few items to my armor and weapons charts.

11/4/08

I've updated my PVP Armories Chart, and it appears that there's no real consensus as to
the most effective PVP spec right now, although Mutilate variants outnumber other builds.

11/3/08

I've finished updating my Rogue Consumables Chart to add the new WotLK consumables.

11/2/08

Another chart I plan on retiring soon is my Rogue Avoidance Tank Armor Chart due to the
recent introduction of diminishing returns for Avoidance Stats (Agility, Defense, Dodge and
Parry.) Due to those changes, Rogues will no longer be able to surpass 100% avoidance.

11/1/08

I've retired all of the non-Rogue Consumables charts that I used to maintain. I'm currently
working on updating my Rogue Consumables Chart to add the new WotLK consumables.

10/31/08

I've made updates to all of my Talent Spec charts, which includes Level 70 (PVE / PVP),
Level 80 (PVE / PVP) and my Twink Specs Chart. I've also added a HAT (Honor Among
Thieves) raid build to my PVE specs charts, based on the build being designed by Ippon.

10/30/08

I'm still updating some sections of my site to be current with the 3.0.2/3.0.3 patch changes.
Today's updates include my FAQ, my Basic Tips, and even my old Guide to Maximizing
Gear for Raid DPS
. I've also updated Duskbat Drape on my Twink Armor charts, an item
which lost its unique Fall Damage Reduction ability in this patch (switched to Hit Rating.)

10/29/08

I have updated my Enchantments Charts with more WotLK recipes, including profession-
required recipes for Leatherworkers, Inscribers and even one for Rogue Tailors (heh heh).

10/28/08

I have made a few updates to my site today, including adding information about the benefits
of Wound Poison to my Leveling Tips page and adding the Leatherworker-only Fur Linings
to my Enchantments charts. Thanks to Oscassey for reminding me about those Fur Linings.

10/27/08

I have updated my Arena/Karazhan Ready guides one last time for the 3.0.2/3.0.3 patch. If
you have previously purchased a guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in
your "Order Info" email to download the updated guide. If your Download Link has already
expired, you can use that link to request an additional download. If you have lost or deleted
your "Order Info" email, contact me and I will send you a copy for your records. I want to
thank all of the Rogues who have helped support my website over the past year. Thanks!!!

10/26/08

I've added four new items available during the WotLK Zombie Invasion to my armor charts.

10/25/08

I've corrected an oversight in my MAEP calculations for items with blue sockets. Previously,
I was manually adjusting those specific items to account for optimal gem choices, but since I
now score all blue sockets the same, I had to revert those manual adjustments in my charts.

10/24/08

I've added some new items to my armor and weapons charts. In addition to that, I've updated
Bladefist's Breadth with the new 1 minute cooldown. I've also added several new Engineering
PVP armor enhancements to my Enchantments charts. Thanks to Denia for providing that info.

10/23/08

I've made a few minor updates today, fixing my MAEP formula on a couple of pages and
adding some websites to my Links page, including links to three different guides on how to
beat Ret Paladins in PVP. Most of my time is still focused on updating my own two guides.

10/22/08

I've updated my PVP Armories Chart so you can see some examples of the new PVP builds.

10/21/08

One major change in the 3.0.2 patch is how Mutilate main hand daggers are valued for raiding.
Unlike other Rogue specs, Mutilate Raid specs now prefer a faster weapon in the main hand to
provide more damage through Instant Poison and Focused Attacks. In an effort to simulate this
change in dagger valuation, I've modified my Daggers chart to create two Raid Mutilate Dagger
charts that should help players find good, fast, main hand daggers for their Raid Mutilate builds.

3.0.2 Raid Mutilate Daggers Chart

10/20/08

I've updated my Enchantments charts (PVE / PVP) with WotLK enchantments. I've also updated
enchantments that changed in 3.0.2. Thanks again to Rambaral for notifying me of those changes.

10/19/08

I've updated my Gems charts (PVE / PVP) with all of the WotLK gems. I've also added some older
gems that gained melee stats in the 3.0.2 patch. Thanks to Rambaral for pointing out those changes.

10/18/08

I've updated my Glyphs Chart with the 3.0.3 Beta Glyphs. Other 3.0.3 changes include the 2 second
cooldown being removed from Shadow Dance and Combat Potency only working on autoattacks.

10/17/08

For those who have purchased my guides, I'm working on updating them one final time for the 3.0.2
patch, and I should be releasing them shortly. I'll let you know when I've finished updating them.

10/16/08

I've updated configuration settings for using the Pawn mod to calculate AEP/MAEP values in game.

10/15/08

I've updated my Rogue Twink Specs chart and my Leveling Tips page by specifying exactly which
"Primary Attacks" should be used (Sinister Strike/Hemorrhage/Backstab/Mutilate) for each spec.

10/14/08

To clear up confusion concerning my 3.0.2 charts and WotLK gem values, I've reverted my Level 70
armor charts to current BC rare gem values and created a new set of WotLK charts using WotLK
rare gem values. I've also updated my Starter Gear charts to match the Level 70 armor chart values.

WotLK PVE Armor Chart

10/14/08

With the 3.0.2 Patch coming out today, I've archived pre-3.0.2 versions of my charts, talent specs,
etc. on my Archives page. I plan on updating my Gems and Enchantments charts later this week.

10/14/08

I've finally updated the MAEP values in my PVE Armor Chart. I reduced the values for Haste, Hit
Rating, Expertise Rating and Armor Penetration due to changes in 3.0.2 combat mechanics and raid
buffs. As always, feel free to download my .XLS charts to fill in whatever values work best for you.

10/13/08

I've updated my 3.0.2 Leveling Tips page and my Rogue Twink Specs chart with Non-Dagger
Assassination Specs. Thanks to Motionless for the spec idea and for the outline of leveling talents.

10/12/08

Rogue Twink Specs

10/11/08

I've updated my 3.0.2 Leveling Tips with two Subtlety leveling specs for those bored with Combat.

10/11/08

I've updated the value of blue sockets in my armor and weapons charts. Since the increased value
of WotLK gems will outweigh the relatively minor socket bonuses in most gear, then it will usually
be more beneficial to put red/yellow gems in those sockets. So I've increased the value of all blue
sockets while subtracting those socket bonuses (marked in italics) from items with blue sockets.

10/11/08

I've posted a 3.0.2 Leveling Tips page in preparation for the 3.0.2 patch and WotLK expansion.
Changes include new talents, level 70-79 weapons and an alternative Assassination leveling spec.

10/9/08

I've made several updates to my site, adding a few items to my armor and weapons charts while
making minor changes to my 3.0.2 Talent Trees/Talent Specs, which are current as of Build 9061.

10/4/08

I've moved some Glyphs in the 3.0.2 section of my Rogue Glyphs Chart down to the WotLK section
due to the expected unavailability of Ink of the Sea, an ink which is needed for Level 350+ inscriptions
and which can only be obtained from Northrend herbs. Thanks to Tahmurath for reporting this issue.

10/3/08

I've updated my 3.0.2 Talent Trees/Talent Specs with the latest Build 9038 changes.

10/1/08

I've updated my Rogue Stat Formulas Chart (XLS / HTM) with the addition of Level 80 Combat
Ratings and Stat Calculations based on the excellent work by Whitetooth, Author of RatingBuster.

9/30/08

I've updated my 3.0.2 Talent Trees/Talent Specs & Glyphs Chart with the latest Build 9014 changes.

9/30/08

I've updated my weapons charts with 150+ weapons from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

9/28/08

I've updated my WotLK PVP & PVE armor charts with corrected values for Level 80 sockets,
Armor Penetration and TCrit calculations. Thanks to Sannin and Oboke for reporting those issues.

9/26/08

I've finally updated my main armor charts (PVP & PVE) with gear from the upcoming Wrath of
the Lich King expansion, adding over 600 items to those charts. Some items still have missing
data that hasn't been completely captured during the Beta/PTR process and a few of those items
will likely change between now and the release of the 3.0.2 patch and the expansion itself. I plan
on tweaking my AEP/MAEP formulas soon, so use the current values as general guidelines only.
As always, feel free to download my .XLS charts to fill in whatever values work best for you.
For those still focused on pre-WotLK gear, I've archived previous versions of those charts here.

9/24/08

I've updated all of my 3.0.2 Talent Trees/Talent Specs with the latest Build 8982 changes.

9/22/08

I've added an Arena 2v2 Guides, Strategies & Discussions section to my Rogue Links page.

9/20/08

I've updated all of my 3.0.2 Talent Trees/Talent Specs with the latest Build 8970 changes.

9/19/08

Much like how BoE "Bandit" items started popping up after the 2.0 patch, I expect that WotLK
Bandit items will show up when the 3.0.2 patch arrives. With this in mind, I've added all of the new
level 70 BoE items to my armor and weapons charts to give players an idea of how useful those
items will be leading up to expansion. I plan to start adding more WotLK gear to my charts soon.

9/18/08

I've updated all of my 3.0.2 Patch Content with the latest Build 8962 changes.

I've updated my level 70 Weapons Charts with Item Levels and Wowhead links with mouseover tooltips.

6/24/08

I have updated my Arena/Karazhan Ready guides for the start of Arena Season 4. If you have previously
purchased a guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in your "Order Info" email to download
the updated guide. If your Download Link has expired, you can use that link to request additional downloads.
If you have lost or deleted your "Order Info" email, contact me and I will send you a copy for your records.

6/18/08

I've created a new chart that's specifically tailored towards players who have tons of gold and want to level
up an Alt / Twink Rogue as quickly as possible. This chart contains the best possible gear, enchantments &
consumables that can be purchased to powerlevel your Rogue. This chart doesn't include Quest/BoP items,
so you'll want to cross-reference my Twink Charts to see if specific upgrades are really worth purchasing.

Kagero has created configuration settings for using the Pawn mod to calculate AEP/MAEP values in game.

5/23/08

After receiving requests from multiple players, I've added a Rogue Avoidance Tank Armor Chart to my site.
This chart is based on the excellent work done by Gaeowyn of Illidan, a Rogue who has successfully tanked
Mother Shahraz and Gruul, in addition to other bosses. Rogue Avoidance Tanking relies heavily on Agility,
Defense Rating, Dodge Rating and Parry Rating to achieve 100% or better avoidance from physical attacks.

3/27/08

I've made some adjustments to my Weapons charts, increasing the MAEP value for DPS and decreasing the
MAEP value for Average Damage. Now that I've broken out the Weapon Ratings into two distinctly different
fields (AEP for PVP and MAEP for PVE) I felt that these adjustments were necessary to better reflect PVE
main hand rankings. As always, my charts don't take talent specs into account, so if you don't like the values
I've used, you're welcome to download my customizable XLS Charts and use whatever values work for you.

3/26/08

I have just finished revising my Arena/Karazhan Ready guides for the new 2.4 patch. If you have previously
purchased a guide, you can go back to the Download Link provided in your "Order Info" email to download
the updated guide. If your Download Link has expired, you can use that link to request additional downloads.

3/22/08

I've updated my Nature Resistance Gear Chart to help people prepare for Felmyst from Sunwell Plateau.

3/14/08

I've been making various improvements to my site over the past few weeks:

1. I added 2 separate links to each Armory in my PVP Rogue Armories Chart in case one site is down.
2. I added Wowhead links to each of the items and abilities in my Stealth Chart and Leveling Tips page.
3. I added a set of Sample Attack Routines for increasing numbers of targets to my Leveling Tips page.
4. I added Wowhead links to my Talent Spec charts, and updated the Shadowstep and Mutilate specs.

3/11/08

I know that this has been long overdue, but I've finally updated my Fire Resistance Gear Chart.

3/2/08

I'm always looking for ways to improve the usefulness of my charts. With this in mind, I've converted all of the
links in my main level 70 armor charts to Wowhead links, complete with built-in mouseover tooltips. Enjoy!

2/27/08

Lately, I've noticed some players on the Rogue Forums using some of my charts incorrectly, so I've made a FAQ

I've added more 2.4 items to my armor/weapons charts and I've also revised my Talent Spec charts by adding
2.4 Mutilate specs that include the new Puncturing Wounds talent that will be replacing Improved Backstab.

2/10/08

I've started adding new items from the 2.4 PTR to my Armor and Weapons charts.

2/10/08

I've consolidated a few of my charts and tried to organize my site a little bit better.
One change that I've made is to remove the redundant DAEP formula from my charts.
Now there are two main formulas being used - - AEP for PVP and MAEP for PVE.
I also split the weapon AEP column in my weapons charts into AEP/MAEP columns.
Hopefully these changes will reduce confusion and make my charts more user friendly.

Improving AEP for Level 70 PVP

1/11/08

Happy New Year!

I've put together a chart that compares the specs, ratings, stats, gear, gems and enchantments
of certain noteworthy and influential PVP Rogues from the Rogue Forums. This information
can be used to help you see what some of the "pros" are doing to maximize their gear and stats
for high-level PVP. This data is a static snapshot of their current Armory info as of today.

PVP Rogue Armories Chart

12/9/07

I finally got around to updating my Shadow Resistance Chart for those working on Black Temple.

11/29/07

I'd like to bring two PVP-related items to everyone's attention:

1. As of 11/27/07, all level 70 Rogues should have a set of 90+ DPS weapons (S1 or better).
2. I just added Vindicator's Dragonhide Bracers to my charts and the results are surprising.

11/28/07

I've made a few more adjustments to my AEP/DAEP/MAEP formulas. I slightly increased the
value of Expertise for PVE/Raiding and slightly decreased the value of Hit Rating for PVP.
I also made some changes to my Weapons charts, adding Speed, DPS and Average Damage
values to the top of each chart. Now, if you disagree with the weighting of those values,
you can download the XLS versions of my charts and modify them however you see fit.

11/15/07

I've made some adjustments to my AEP/DAEP/MAEP formulas. To minimize the effect of less
useful stats like Dodge & Armor, I've reduced their value from .01 to .001. Doing so has caused
the relative value of Crit Rating in my AEP Balance Sheet to increase slightly from .85 to .90.
I've also decreased the value of Stamina in my MAEP formula from .05 to .01 to more closely
model the true value of items when evaluating them for maximum raid DPS. In addition to that,
I've increased the value of Strength and Agility in my MAEP formula by 10% to account for the
Blessing of Kings buff, which you'd normally expect to have in raid situations. And finally, I've
given Armor Penetration effects a small increase in value from .10 to .15 in all three formulas.

11/8/07

Thanks to Zvi who has sent me about a dozen item changes that I've added to my Twink Charts.

11/6/07

Shadow Panther's Basic Tips for Improving Your Rogue

11/2/07

I've updated my 19-59 Twink Armor Chart with the 2.3 changes and additions to gear.

10/31/07

I've increased the value of Relentless Earthstorm Diamond from 20 to 40 AEP/DAEP/MAEP, which
increases the value of all Meta Socket helms in my charts by 20. Apparently, I'd been undervaluing
the Crit Damage bonus. Also, I've added the Executioner enchant to my Enchantments chart.

10/24/07

I've added Zul'Aman and Vengeful Gladiator (S3) weapons to my Weapons Charts.

10/24/07

I'm in the process of updating my Weapons Charts. All current weapons are now updated with
changes from the upcoming 2.3 patch. Next I'll be adding the new 2.3 weapons to the charts.

10/20/07

Ok, I think I've finally fixed my Contact Form problem. Here is my new Contact Form.

10/20/07

Some people still want to have access to previous versions of my Armor charts, specifically
the last version before I removed all of the old and inferior gear. So, with that in mind...

Chart Archives

10/19/07

To make my armor charts more user-friendly, I've removed old & inferior items, reducing
chart sizes and download times considerably. All of the old & inferior items can still be
found in my Armor Locations Chart. Many of those lower level items can also be found
in my 60-69 Twink Armor Chart, which can be used as a general guide for leveling gear.

10/18/07

I've added Vindicator's BG gear and updated the Arena Points/BG Honor prices for all armor.
If my charts are missing any 2.3 armor, let me know. Now I'll be updating my weapons charts.

10/16/07

I've added Vengeful Gladiator (S3) gear to my armor charts. More updates to come.

10/16/07

I've updated my main Armor charts with changes from the 2.3 patch. They're still
a work in progress, so expect more items to be added in the next few days/weeks.
Changes include adding columns for Expertise, Haste Rating and Armor Penetration.
All new items and recently changed items have been highlighted in gray. After I get all
the new items added, I'll be reducing the size of my charts by taking out older/inferior
items. Once I get my armor charts in order, I'll start working on my weapons charts.

10/14/07

I've decided to discontinue my Armory Rating Service. It was just taking
up too much of my time, preventing me from working on other projects,
like updating my charts with all of the new 2.3 items and abilities.

10/12/07

It seems that my Contact Form has been acting up lately. So, for the time being,
I have that page forwarding to an alternate Contact Form until I can straighten
this out. If you sent me a message in the past few weeks and did not receive
a reply, please resend your message. I apologize for the confusion.

I'm currently working on updating my charts and
will be adding new 2.3 items to them very soon

A Brief History and Explanation of the AEP System

9/28/07

I've just completed a bunch of changes to my charts to update them for 2.2.

In addition to that, I've revised my AEP/DAEP/MAEP formulas to correct some
inconsistencies that had been bugging me. Specifically, I've done the following:

Crit Rating: I've decreased the value of Crit Rating in all formulas by 15%.
If you check the math in the AEP Balance Sheet section of my Formulas Chart,
you'll see that Agility almost exactly equals AEP when you reduce Crit Rating to 0.85.
Before now, my charts had slightly overvalued Crit Rating, which was causing some
items to be ranked higher than they should have been.

Hit Rating: I've increased the value of Hit Rating in my DAEP/MAEP formulas by 15%.
I've also decreased the value of Hit Rating in my AEP formula by 15%. These changes
reflect the premium value Hit Rating deserves for PVE Raiding while minimizing its
value in PVP, where Hit Rating is unneccesary above a certain level.

7/5/07

I've added new Twink Charts for the 51-60 AV bracket and the 60-69 BGs bracket.

I've added more 2.1 items to my Weapons and Armor charts.

The masses have been clamoring for a Pure DPS armor chart, ignoring Stamina altogether.
So, with that in mind, I'm now introducing a chart based on MAEP - Maximum DPS AEP.
In the MAEP formula, the value of Stamina is reduced to 1/20th the value of Agility.
As a result, all Blue Sockets have also been reduced in value. The MAEP formula can be
used to help you maximize your DPS output with almost complete disregard for Stamina.

I've updated my armor charts with the new Tier 6 Rogue Set - Slayer's Armor.

4/18/07

With the discovery of new items and changes to current items in the upcoming 2.1
patch, I've been updating all of my charts with these new items, including the buffed
stats to the Tier 5 Deathmantle set. Also, in response to the upcoming Alchemy Nerf,
I've created a new Consumables Rankings Chart which ranks consumables using the
DAEP formula to help Rogues determine which will have the most effect.

Consumables Rankings Chart

4/5/07

Pre-BC, I used to be an officer in a fairly successful raiding guild, Order of Sanctus
on the US Earthen Ring server. Unfortunately, a month or two before Burning Crusade
released, my guild fell apart and I've pretty much been playing solo ever since. I just
recently hit level 70, but a lot of that time was spent updating information on my site.

Eventually, I knew there would come a time when I would need to look for another guild.
And to give myself the best possible chance to get into a guild, I needed to make sure
that my gear was as good as it could be, considering the circumstances. Like many
guildless Rogues out there, I've had a tough time getting into successful PUGs and my
Outlands instance experience is minimal. But with the help of my own armor charts, I
think I've put together a respectable set of pre-Heroic/pre-Karazhan raiding gear.
I still have a few items to upgrade (Shoulder/Gloves) and I need to get my rep-based
Head/Shoulder enchants, but aside from that, I think I've done pretty well so far.

To help other Rogues in a similar situation, I've created charts that list the best Rogue
Starter items (PVP & PVE) that can be crafted, purchased or acquired from quests with
minimal instancing or group assistance:

Ever wondered how high your stealth level could get, or how easily players with stealth
detection could see through it? I've created a chart which lists every known item, ability,
skill, talent, consumable, etc. that effects a player's stealth level or stealth detection level.

Stealth Chart

Much thanks to Eric Anderson, who helped compile most of this information!

In an effort to reconcile the discrepancy of Agility not equaling AEP in the AEP system
I've created a spreadsheet with the sole purpose of working out the math on this problem
as well as other Combat Rating conversions. This spreadsheet is a work in progress and
I welcome comments/corrections/complaints from the advanced Mathcrafters out there.

I'm constantly tweaking my charts to provide the most useful information for Rogues.
I've now modified my armor charts so you can see AEP/DAEP values side by side.
I've also added columns that list Total Crit % (TCrit) and Total AP (TAP) values.
This will make it easier for you to see how gear upgrades affect your overall Crit/AP.
Using those TCrit and TAP values, I've created new armor charts sorted by those stats.

Max Crit Chart

Max AP Chart

I've also compiled "Ultimate Sets" for PVP, PVE, Crit and AP in my Armor Sets Chart.
As a side note, I've now removed the .PDF versions of my charts, because it just takes way
too much time to convert every single chart any time I make a simple change or correction.
Most of my charts are available in .XLS format which can be opened in Excel/OpenOffice.

3/14/07

Want 525+ Arcane Resistance? Of course not, but with Burning Crusade you can
actually reach that amount now. I've updated my Arcane Resistance Chart to
include all of the new Arcane Resistance gear and enchantments for people wanting
to collect their Arcane Resistance set for Karazhan. I'll eventually get around to
updating all of my other resistance gear charts...

3/6/07

Over the past few weeks, I've made numerous improvements to my charts:

1. I added socket bonuses to items, with the assumption that people use matching gems.

2. I modified the value of sockets to better reflect the value of gems in PVP vs. PVE gear.

3. I reduced the AEP value of defensive stats such as Defense Rating, Dodge, Parry, etc.

4. I filled in previously unknown item drop locations, rep info, bosses, zones, sources, etc.

5. I removed many abbreviations I'd been using in item names to improve search results.

6. I added 2.0.10 stats for Gladiator, Deathmantle, Netherblade and a few other items.

7. I added Orange, Purple and Green sections and a DAEP column to my Gems Chart.

8. I corrected a few errors and added some more new items to most of my charts.

2/20/07

I updated my Enchantments Chart with Glyph and Inscription
reputation rewards and sorted all the enchantments by AEP. I also
reduced the value of sockets on my Weapons and Armor charts by 25%,
since many people don't have access to or won't be willing to spend crazy
amounts to put the best possible gems in their transitional gear.

2/15/07

I updated my Enchantments Chart with all of the new Leatherworking
armor kits. I know they're not technically enchants, but they serve the
same purpose. Rogue Twinks will be especially pleased to learn that the new
Agi/Stam and Crit/AP Leg Armors can be placed on BOE Twink Gear!

2/13/07

I've updated my Twink Charts with all of the Level 59 "of the Bandit" items. Level 57-59
Bandit Armor obliterates all previous 50-59 Twink Armor and the weapons are decent too.

2/12/07

I've updated my Armor and Weapons Charts by adding all of the best
possible Bind on Equip "of the Bandit" items (both Green and Blue)
so you know what to look for when browsing the AH.

2/9/07

I've updated my Rogue Bandit Gear Chart with the new AEP/DAEP formulas.

2/8/07

I've updated my Weapons Charts with the new AEP formulas and other changes listed below.

2/6/07

I've redesigned my Armor Charts to address some issues people had
asked about. Listed below are the changes I made to my Armor Charts
and will eventually be making to my Weapons Charts as well:

1. I incorporated a modified version of Ming's new AEP formulas into my Armor/Gems charts.

2. I uploaded .xls versions of my charts, to make it easier for people to modify AEP weightings.

3. I updated the Loc/Info/Source fields on many new items to help people find them more easily.

4. I moved Resistances data to the Special column to make room for 4 separate Gems columns.

5. I separated out the Defense and Resilience columns, which I'd previously combined together.

6. I moved Hit/Crit/AP next to Str/Agi/Sta to keep these important stats together in one section.

7. I separated out Thrown weapons from the Ranged Weapons section. Deadly Throw FTW...

8. I updated a couple of bad links and I also corrected a few other errors I found in my charts.

2/1/07

I've updated my Rogue Enchantments Chart and Consumables
Checklists to include items from the Burning Crusade.

1/31/07

Rogue DPS Armor Chart

I've often heard complaints that the AEP system I use for my armor
charts places too much emphasis on Stamina and other defensive stats.
Stamina is highly valued in PVP, but less valuable when you're trying
to maximize your Raid DPS. Now, with the release of Burning Crusade,
Stamina is abundantly available, which throws off the valuation of gear.
To adjust for this, I've created a Rogue DPS Armor Chart using a
DPS-Oriented AEP formula (DAEP), which places more emphasis on
offensive stats and less emphasis on Stamina and other defensive stats.

1/24/07

Rogue Bandit Gear Chart

I put this chart together to illustrate how quickly you can replace
Tier 1, 2, 2.5 & 3 gear with common green "of the Bandit" items
purchased from the Auction House. Armor can be replaced early on,
but quality weapons (like those GM/HWL weapons you grinded for
over the past two months) should last you well into your late 60s.
This chart is still a work in progress, so more items will be added soon.

1/23/07

Rogue Gems Chart

To help players decide which Gems are best for using in their
socketed gear, I've created this Rogue Gems Chart.

Happy Expansion Day!

I've started updating all of my Armor and Weapons Charts
with new items from the Burning Crusade expansion.
I'll be adding more items in the days to come.

1/1/07

Happy New Year!

I've updated all of my Armor, Weapons and Twink Charts with the new 2.0 stats.
These changes include converting all percentage values to the new Combat Rating System.
I've also updated all of the PVP rewards to reflect their new Honor Point costs.
I plan to update the rest of my site to reflect these changes within the next week.
I'll also start adding new TBC items to my charts now that I have these changes in place.

I've revised my Molten Core/Ragnaros Checklists and made them into general
